Amy Sherrod는 미국 Seattle Children's Hospital의 Outpatient Medical Director와 Hematology/Oncology Advanced Practice Provider로서 임상관점에서 아이들을 위한 환경을 위해 다양한 노력을 하고 있는 ARNP(advanced practice registered nurses)입니다.

Amy Sherrod는 partner로서 가족과 함께 질병을 헤쳐나가는 loving spirit과 advanced understanding을 강조하는데, 특히 어린이병원은 성장과 발달과정 중에 있는 어린이를 대상으로 병원의 역할과 기능을 수행함으로써 어린이환자와 환자 가족의 차별화된 의료서비스 요구에 대응하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다.

Seattle Children's Hospital은 미국 내 10 pediatric specialties로서 the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)에서 승인을 받은 병원이기도 합니다.

공간적조건으로 way finding과 graphics program이 명확한 컬러와 함축적인 사인으로 전체적으로 통일되고 조화된 Seattle Children’s Hospital은 정해지지 않은 경계로 6개의 zones으로 나누고, Ocean, Mountain, River, and Forest의 각 Pacific-Northwest-inspired zone의 특성을 반영하여 빠르고 정확하게 인식될 수 있도록 특정 이름, 색상, 아이콘으로 디자인하였습니다.

 

 

 

Natural 한 자연이 모티브가 되어 쾌적한 환경, 접근이 쉽고, 개방적이며 편리한 환경, 상호작용 및 사회적 지원이 이루어지는 환경, 병원에서 경험하는 스트레스 요인을 제거하고 긍정적인 기분전환이 가능한 환경조성을 하였습니다.

 

또한 어린이환자들이 있는 만큼 Safety and Wellness분야의 다양한 연구를 통해 어린이안전에 대한 연구도 있어 동영상을 소개합니다.

어린이병원은 어린이환자에게 익숙하고 안락하며 가족중심의 환경을 제공함으로서 정서, 신체발달을 지원하고, 어린이 스케일을 고려하여 물리적 위험요소가 없으며, 위생적 환경,간 및 환경과의 상호작용을 통해 사회적 관계형성을 위한 환경을 제공함으로서 사회성, 인지,정서 발달을 지원도 지원할 뿐 아니라 어린이의 발달특성에 맞는 가변적이고 다양한 공간구성 및 배치의 융통성도 요구된다고 합니다.
